korba (Balconagar) 17th March 2024: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a unit of Vedanta Aluminium, recently organized a Mega Health Camp in Bhujankacchar, Chotia, in Korba district, in collaboration with the District Health Department. Undertaken with the aim of providing primary healthcare services to people in remote areas towards enhancing the community’s overall well-being, the camp witnessed a footfall of over 110 people who turned up to seek crucial primary healthcare, provided free-of-cost by the company.

During the camp, a dedicated team comprising doctors, community health officials, rural health coordinators, support staff, and nurses from several primary health centers, sub-health centers, and community health centers in the region together delivered essential health consultations and treatment to the community members. Apart from primary health check-ups, necessary medicines were also provided free-of-cost to the patients for their continued wellbeing.
The Mega Health Camp also supported those seeking long-term medical support by spreading awareness on the Government of India’s Ayushman Bharat scheme, through which beneficiaries could avail of affordable healthcare at government facilities. Notably, the camp was attended by residents from across 5 villages in the surrounding areas of Chotia.
