Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Presents Laptop to Visually Impaired Student Jaymanti Khes

Visual Impairment No Barrier as Jaymanti’s Dreams Get Digital Wings

Raipur, August 17, 2026/ Jaymanti Khes, a 100 per cent visually impaired student from Goriya village in Kunkuri development block of Jashpur district, has never allowed her visual impairment to stand in the way of her education. Aspiring to pursue higher education and become a teacher, she has now received technological support to move closer to her goal. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai presented Jaymanti with a laptop equipped with special assistive software at his residence in Bagiya village on August 17 and extended his best wishes for her future.

Jaymanti is currently a final-year B.A. student at Degree Girls College, Raipur. The specially configured laptop will enable her to access digital books, notes and other educational resources through audio, making her studies more accessible and helping her study independently.

Expressing her happiness and gratitude to the Chief Minister, Jaymanti said the laptop would be extremely useful for her studies and help her pursue higher education.

“I Want to Become a Teacher”: Jaymanti Tells Chief Minister

While presenting the laptop, Chief Minister Shri Sai interacted with Jaymanti and enquired about her studies and future aspirations. When he asked what she wanted to become, Jaymanti confidently replied, “I want to become a teacher.”

Encouraging her, the Chief Minister said, “Teachers are nation-builders. Study with complete dedication and continue working towards achieving your goal.” He said determination and hard work can help overcome even the most difficult challenges and turn dreams into reality.

Shri Sai said the State Government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for every student to pursue education and progress in life. Providing students with disabilities with appropriate resources and support to help them advance in education and towards self-reliance remains a priority for the government.

Request Raised During Jan Darshan Gets Prompt Resolution

Jaymanti had requested a laptop during the Collector’s Jan Darshan to make her studies more accessible. Considering her requirement and dedication towards education, the Collector directed the Social Welfare Department to provide the necessary assistance.

The Social Welfare Department subsequently configured a laptop with assistive software suited to Jaymanti’s requirements, which was personally presented to her by Chief Minister Shri Sai.

Officials said the software converts on-screen content into audio, enabling Jaymanti to listen to and understand digital material. The technology will help her access educational resources more conveniently and strengthen her ability to study independently.
