Raipur, August 1, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday attended the CG Tent and Decor Expo 2026 at a convention centre in Labhandi, Raipur, where he visited the exhibition, inspected various stalls and interacted with representatives of the tent and event industry from across the country.
Calling the three-day expo an important platform for innovation, skill development and business partnerships, Chief Minister said it would expose local entrepreneurs to modern equipment, new designs, digital management practices and emerging market trends. Such initiatives help industries embrace new technologies, expand business opportunities and improve their competitiveness.
Shri Sai said the tent and event industry has become an important contributor to the economy, supporting weddings, social, religious, cultural and government events across the country. The sector has generated employment and self-employment opportunities for thousands of young people in both rural and urban areas, while many women associated with Self-Help Groups have also built sustainable livelihoods through tent-related enterprises. He noted that several beneficiaries under the Lakhpati Didi initiative have strengthened their household incomes by taking up businesses linked to the sector.
He said expos such as this would particularly benefit small and medium-scale businesses by introducing them to modern machinery, decorative materials, quality standards and new avenues for business expansion.
Speaking about the state’s industrial growth, Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most industry-friendly states. The New Industrial Policy has received an encouraging response from investors in India and abroad, strengthening their confidence and accelerating economic growth. He said the government’s focus is to create an ecosystem where industry, trade and entrepreneurship grow together while generating greater employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth.
Highlighting the state’s strategic location at the centre of the country, Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh enjoys a natural advantage for trade and logistics. The government is continuously strengthening road, rail and air connectivity to support industrial expansion. Strong infrastructure, he added, remains the foundation for investment, industrial growth and employment.
Congratulating the organisers, Shri Sai expressed confidence that the expo would give fresh momentum to Chhattisgarh’s tent and event industry and provide local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their capabilities at the national level.
MLA Shri Amar Agrawal also addressed the gathering. National President of the Tent Owners Welfare Association Shri Vipul Singh, State President Shri Amarjeet Singh Dua, Smt. Ranjeet Kaur Dua, office-bearers of the Chhattisgarh Tent Owners Welfare Association, representatives of the tent and event industry from across the country, and a large number of dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
