CM dedicates and lays the foundation stone of 76 Development Works Worth Rs. 603.46 crore in Gariaband

Government Committed to Realising the Vision of Developed India and Developed Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai dedicated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs. 603.46 crore in Gariaband district on June 17. He dedicated 46 development works worth Rs. 86.75 crore to the people of Gariaband and laid the foundation stone of 30 new projects worth Rs. 516.70 crore. These initiatives are expected to significantly strengthen road connectivity, irrigation facilities, healthcare services, education infrastructure, drinking water supply, electricity networks and other essential public amenities across the district.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the State Government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.
He stated that the Mukhyamantri Bijli Bill Samadhan Yojana has been implemented to provide relief to consumers across the state. Under the scheme, relief amounting to nearly Rs. 757 crore is being extended towards outstanding electricity dues, providing financial support to lakhs of families. He also highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, rooftop solar installations are being promoted through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, helping households reduce electricity expenses while encouraging clean energy adoption.
Referring to initiatives for farmers, he said that new centres of Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies are being established across the state to ensure easier access to loans, fertilisers, seeds and other essential services at the local level. He urged farmers to adopt modern agricultural practices and emphasised the benefits of Nano Urea.
He reiterated that good governance and transparency remain key priorities of the State Government. To ensure prompt and time-bound resolution of public grievances, the Chief Minister Helpline 1076 has been launched. He appealed to citizens to make maximum use of the facility.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is establishing a stronger identity on the global stage. He added that the Central and State Governments are working together to realise the vision of a Developed India and a Developed Chhattisgarh. He assured that the journey of development would continue and that every region of the state would benefit from ongoing progress.
He stated that fulfilling citizens’ basic needs and expanding essential infrastructure remain the government’s highest priorities.

He highlighted Gariaband’s unique identity, shaped by its natural beauty, rich tribal heritage and religious significance. He noted that Rajim, often referred to as the Prayag of Chhattisgarh, along with the Rajiv Lochan Temple and the Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple, is a major centre of faith. The State Government is continuously expanding facilities at these religious and tourism destinations for devotees and visitors.
He informed that during the Sushasan Tihar campaign, approval was granted for the construction of an anicut on the Tel River at a cost of Rs. 7 crore to permanently address the long-standing drinking water problem in the Supebeda region. The project is expected to provide a sustainable source of clean drinking water to residents.
The Chief Minister said that the new academic session commenced across the state on June 16 and that the Shala Pravesh Utsav is being observed from June 16 to June 27. He appealed to public representatives and citizens to participate in school programmes and help bring out-of-school children into the mainstream education system.
Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that Gariaband is a tribal-majority district with a significant population of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), including the Kamar and Bhunjia communities. Through the PM JANMAN Yojana and the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, substantial improvements are being brought in education, healthcare, roads, housing and livelihood opportunities in these regions.

Expressing confidence in the district’s future, the Chief Minister said that the development projects dedicated today would play a significant role in taking Gariaband to new heights of progress.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister and District In-Charge Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the State Government is rapidly fulfilling the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and working with commitment for the welfare of all sections of society.
Member of Parliament from the Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency, Smt. Roop Kumari Choudhary and Rajim MLA Shri Rohit Sahu also addressed the gathering.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation Shri Chandulal Sahu, Zila Panchayat President Shri Gaurishankar Kashyap, public representatives, government officials and a large number of citizens were present.
