Daughters of Chhattisgarh hone their skills in NTPC’s football coaching camp 
Along with the goal of power generation, NTPC Korba is also helping shape up the sports talent of Chhattisgarh.
Korba 24 Mar.- State level senior women football selection test and coaching camp was organized under Corporate Social Responsibility at NTPC Korba. Players from Balod, Raipur, Bastar and Durg districts participated in the coaching camp running from 02 to 23 March 2023.
Residential training was given to players from different states. Along with football, they was also provided other types of training. The players were also imparted training on soft skills, gender sensitization etc. during the camp. During their stay, the players also participated in festivals like Holi Milan, Women’s Day etc.
40 players participated in the coaching camp, out of which 30 players were selected based on the first tournament. Training was given to these 30 players, after which 22 players were selected to represent the state of Chhattisgarh at the national level. These daughters of Chhattisgarh will now represent the state at the national level. Coach Yogesh Jangde, assistant coach and manager also participated in the coaching camp along with the players.
The coaching camp concluded on 23.03.2023 in which kits were provided to the players by NTPC Korba Management.
During the closing ceremony, Madhu S, General Manager (Operation & Maintenance) said that “State level senior women football selection trial and coaching camp was successfully organized by NTPC Korba. All the players were provided with residential training as well as all the facilities. My heartiest congratulations to all the participants”.
Kiran Pisda, the player representing Chhattisgarh at the national level, was also a part of this training. Sharing her experience during the coaching camp, she said that “All the facilities were provided to us during the one month long training. Full care was taken of our stay, food and medical requirements. I would like to thank NTPC for providing us all the facilities. I am proud to represent my state at the national level. I am also happy to get selected during this coaching camp. Hard work is essential to achieve your goal.”
Head coach Yogesh Jangde said “We have selected 22 kids for the National Championship which is going to be held in Bhilai. Players from 5 more states will participate in this – Jharkhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. This match will run from 26th March to 08th April. Our experience at NTPC was very pleasant. Got full support from the management from day one. The facilities that we got were very good – from the ground to the classrooms, from the food to the medical, all the facilities were very good.
Madhu S, General Manager (Operation & Maintenance), Shri SP Singh, Additional General Manager (Fuel Management), Prabhat Ram, Additional General Manager (HR), Sports Council President KP Chandravanshi, CSR, HR, EDC staff, Coach Yogesh Jangde and all the players attended the closing ceremony.
