Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Plant Saplings at Jetha in Sakti

Union Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai planted saplings under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at the college ground in Jetha village of Sakti district on September 11, spreading the message of environmental conservation, respect for mothers and public participation.
Union Minister Shri Chouhan planted a kadam sapling, while Chief Minister Shri Sai planted an almond sapling. Public representatives and officials expressed their commitment to environmental conservation and expanding green cover.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign connects the sentiment of respect for mothers with responsibility towards nature. It encourages people not only to plant a sapling in honour of their mothers but also to protect and nurture it until it grows into a tree.
The initiative seeks to transform environmental conservation into a people-driven movement, encouraging citizens to contribute towards increasing green cover, maintaining ecological balance and creating a clean and secure environment for future generations.
The plantation undertaken by Union Minister Shri Chouhan and Chief Minister Shri Sai in Sakti reinforced the campaign’s message of collective responsibility towards nature and the importance of sustained community participation in environmental conservation.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Minister-in-Charge of the district Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, Janjgir-Champa MP Smt Kamlesh Jangde, Bilaspur Divisional Commissioner Shri Sunil Jain, Commissioner of Viksit Bharat G-RAM-G Shri Taran Prakash Sinha, Collector Smt Jayshree Jain, SP Shri Prafull Thakur, Zila Panchayat CEO Shri Vasu Jain, along with public representatives and officials, were present on the occasion.
