Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Inaugurates Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute

Raipur, August 16, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the state-of-the-art Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute on the premises of Ramkrishna CARE Hospital at Pachpedi Naka in Raipur on August 16. He inspected the advanced treatment facilities and modern medical equipment at the new cancer unit and congratulated the hospital management and doctors on the initiative. On the occasion, Shri Sai also paid floral tribute to late Shri Pradeep Dave, brother of Dr. Sandeep Dave.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Ramkrishna CARE Hospital has been making a significant contribution to healthcare in Chhattisgarh for the past 36 years. Recalling that Dr. Sandeep Dave’s brother, late Shri Pradeep Dave, had passed away due to cancer, he said the personal loss strengthened the resolve to work on a broader scale against the disease, culminating in the establishment of the Cancer Institute.

The Chief Minister said the institute marks a new chapter in Chhattisgarh’s healthcare sector, enabling cancer patients to access diagnosis, treatment and other essential medical services within a single campus. He expressed confidence that the facility would benefit a large number of patients in the coming years. He said that such private-sector initiatives would further strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure.

Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s healthcare journey, Shri Sai said the state has made significant progress in the 25 years since its formation. Healthcare infrastructure expanded considerably during the tenure of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. Now, the present government has continued to extend modern medical services across the state over the past two-and-a-half years. He said the government’s objective is to ensure that people can access quality and advanced treatment within Chhattisgarh without having to travel outside the state.

Screening and Early Detection Crucial in Fight Against Cancer: Dr. Raman Singh

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh described the Cancer Institute as an important addition to the state’s healthcare infrastructure. He said cancer affects not only the patient but the entire family, making timely diagnosis and treatment particularly important.

Emphasising the importance of regular screening and early detection, Dr Raman Singh said the chances of successful treatment increase considerably when cancer is identified at an early stage. With specialised cancer care now added to the hospital’s existing medical services, patients will be able to access comprehensive healthcare facilities under one roof.

15 Medical Colleges and Super-Speciality Hospitals Strengthen Healthcare Network: Health Minister Shri Jaiswal

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said the new Cancer Institute has added an important dimension to Chhattisgarh’s healthcare services and will benefit patients in the state and across the country.

He said Chhattisgarh had only one medical college at the time of its formation. The number subsequently increased to 10 during the tenure of Dr. Raman Singh and has now reached 15 medical colleges following further expansion under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

The Health Minister said super-speciality healthcare services are also expanding across Chhattisgarh. With such services becoming available in Bastar, the need to airlift critically ill patients to Raipur has reduced, and complex procedures, including cardiac surgeries, are now being performed in Jagdalpur. A super-speciality hospital has also been inaugurated in Bilaspur, while work on two super-speciality hospitals is underway to expand specialised healthcare facilities further.
