Shri Vishnu Deo Sai unveils Chhattisgarh SDG 2.0 framework, launches ‘Bastar Anjor’ initiative for outcome-based development

SDG 2.0 expands monitoring framework to 343 state and 99 district-level indicators

Raipur, July 8, 2026. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday unveiled the Chhattisgarh Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2.0 Framework prepared by the State NITI Aayog, at Mahanadi Bhawan, in the presence of members of the Council of Ministers. He also launched the State and District SDG Indicator Framework 2.0, the Metadata Handbook, and the ‘Bastar Anjor’ initiative aimed at convergence-based, inclusive and outcome-oriented development of the Bastar division.

Shri Sai said effective implementation of government schemes, accurate data and outcome-based monitoring are essential for building a Viksit Chhattisgarh, adding that the SDG 2.0 framework would strengthen evidence-based policymaking, inter-departmental coordination and regular monitoring of development programmes. He said the initiative would support the state’s Viksit Chhattisgarh @2047 vision by making governance more transparent, measurable and accountable.

Under the revised framework, the number of state-level indicators has been increased from 275 to 343, while district-level indicators have risen from 82 to 99, enabling more comprehensive and scientific monitoring of development works. The Metadata Handbook standardises the methodology for calculating and reporting each indicator to improve data quality and reliability across the state.

State Policy Commission Vice-Chairman Shri Ganesh Shankar Mishra said ‘Bastar Anjor’ is a convergence-based development model designed to transform Bastar into the country’s most developed tribal region. Under its 3+4 model, three district-level initiatives—Niyad Nellanar 2.0, Bastar Munne (Pioneering Bastar) and Swasth Bastar—are integrated with four key national and state development frameworks, including SDG 2030, Viksit Chhattisgarh @2047, and the Aspirational District and Development Block Programme, to deliver measurable improvements in education, healthcare, livelihoods and infrastructure without additional resources.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, members of the Council of Ministers and senior administrative officials were present on the occasion.
