Nepal Disaster: Status of 9 Chhattisgarh Citizens Traced, 2 Still Missing
State Government Intensifies Monitoring on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s Instructions

Amid the serious situation caused by floods and landslides in Nepal, the Chhattisgarh Government has intensified monitoring and relief efforts to ensure the safety of citizens from the state. On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, information is being continuously gathered through district administrations, Central agencies and the concerned authorities in Nepal.
According to information received so far, the status of nine citizens linked to Chhattisgarh has been traced. Families of two have been contacted; five residents of Raipur are safe and returning home, while two persons linked to Bilaspur and Surguja are reported missing.
Families of Monika and Manju Contacted
Monika Yadav of Mahadev Ghat, Raipur, who travelled to Nepal on August 22, had reportedly lost contact following the floods. The administration has now established contact with her family and is gathering information regarding her present status.
Contact has also been established with the family of 65-year-old Manju Rai Chaudhary of Bilaspur, who travelled to Nepal for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The administration is verifying available information and coordinating with the concerned agencies.
Priyanka Chaudhary and Dr. Meena Gupta Reported Missing
Priyanka Chaudhary, 39, of Bilaspur, a Finnish citizen, is reported missing in Nepal. Based on information from her family, the administration is coordinating with the relevant agencies to trace her.
Dr Meena Gupta, a British citizen from Surguja, is also reported missing. Her last known location is the Rasuwagadhi Immigration Office on the Nepal-China border. Efforts are underway to obtain information about her whereabouts.
Five Raipur Residents Safe, Returning Home
Five residents of Raipur’s Mana area—Dinesh Ojha, Prem Singh Jagat, Narayan Sen, Yatendra Prakashi and Dinesh Singh Thakur—have been confirmed safe. They had travelled to Nepal on August 21 and have begun their return journey to Raipur.
The State Government is closely monitoring developments and providing necessary assistance to affected families through district administrations and concerned departments. Coordination is also being maintained with Central agencies and authorities in Nepal to trace missing citizens and ensure the safe return of those located.
The government has appealed to citizens to immediately inform the administration if they receive information about any Chhattisgarh resident currently in Nepal and has assured all possible assistance to affected citizens and their families.
