Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai unveils new logo of Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board

Housing Board’s expanded role in infrastructure development will accelerate Chhattisgarh’s growth: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur, June 26, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday unveiled the new logo of the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board at the Circuit House in Nava Raipur, stating the board, once focused only on housing construction, will now play a wider role in infrastructure development to support the state’s growth.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai said every family dreams of owning a permanent home and the state government is committed to fulfilling that aspiration. He said the board’s expanded mandate would strengthen infrastructure development across the state.
Highlighting the board’s performance, Chief Minister said it had overcome financial challenges over the past two years by selling 7,388 properties and generating revenue of ₹ 1,532 crore. He congratulated the Housing and Environment Department, the board’s chairman and its entire team for the achievement.

Shri Sai said the government has moved swiftly to fulfil its commitments, with more than 10.5 lakh houses completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and nearly 1,600 new houses being completed every day. He added that special housing initiatives are also being implemented for surrendered Naxalites and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
Emphasizing good governance as the government’s top priority, Shri Sai said more than 450 government services are now available through the Seva Setu mobile application. He also highlighted the launch of the Chief Minister Helpline 1076 for time-bound grievance redressal. Referring to the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Shri Sai said nearly 65,000 homes across the state have already been equipped with rooftop solar systems, with the scheme offering attractive subsidies that will enable beneficiary families to receive free electricity and sell surplus power to the grid.
Chief Minister said the government has not only introduced public welfare initiatives but has also sought direct public feedback through Sushasan Tihar, using the inputs received over two months to improve governance and public service delivery. He stressed the government’s commitment to transparency and good governance.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister distributed prizes to winners of the lucky draw held for beneficiaries who booked houses during the ‘Awas Mela 2025’, with Smt. Pooja Bareth of Sarangarh receiving the first prize, a car. Scooties, refrigerators, washing machines, and LED TVs etc. were distributed among other winners. He also felicitated Shri Anshul Kashyap, designer of the board’s new logo, and presented him with the competition prize of ₹2.5 lakh.
Housing and Environment Minister Shri OP Choudhary said in his address the department has implemented wide-ranging administrative reforms under Chief Minister’s leadership. Renaming the Housing Board as the Housing and Infrastructure Development Board has expanded its role in capital expenditure and infrastructure development. He said the government’s economic philosophy is to strengthen departments undertaking capital expenditure through adequate financial and human resources to accelerate development.
He said adding new housing projects will now be launched only after sufficient bookings are secured, reducing financial risks and avoiding unnecessary construction. The One-Time Settlement Scheme has also helped dispose of long-pending properties and improve the board’s financial discipline.
Addressing the gathering, Board chairman Shri Anurag Singh Deo said the organization has adopted a new work culture under Chief Minister’s guidance, describing its transformation into the Housing and Infrastructure Development Board as an important step in the state’s development. He added that the board will place greater emphasis on demand-driven, high-quality and financially viable projects in the years ahead.
Housing and Environment Department Secretary Shri Ankit Anand, Board Commissioner Shri Awanish Sharan, senior officials and beneficiaries were also present on the occasion.
