Women Farmers’ Team from Jashpur Leaves for Drone Pilot Training
Raipur, June 20, 2026/ in a major initiative to promote modern agricultural technologies and empower women farmers with technical skills, a five-member team of women farmers from Jashpur district departed for Raipur to undergo drone pilot training under the Drone Didi Campaign. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the team from the College of Agriculture and Research Centre, Kunkuri, and extended his best wishes to the participants.
Addressing the occasion, the Chief Minister said that integrating technology into agriculture is essential for making farming more scientific, efficient and profitable. He described the Drone Didi Campaign as an important step towards women’s empowerment, modern agriculture and rural self-reliance.
He said that women play a vital role in agriculture and, through training in advanced technologies, they will not only become self-reliant but also help other farmers adopt innovative farming practices. He noted that drone technology enables precise and efficient spraying of fertilisers and pesticides, reducing labour and production costs while improving crop productivity and quality.
Under the campaign, women farmers will receive practical training in drone operation, maintenance, safety protocols and agricultural applications of drones. After completing the training, they will be able to work as drone pilots and provide technology-based agricultural services in rural areas, creating new avenues for self-employment and additional income.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is promoting the use of modern technologies in agriculture to increase farmers’ income and make farming more sustainable. He emphasised that the active participation of women is essential for rural development and a progressive agricultural system.
The Drone Didi Campaign aims to equip women with technical skills and establish them as leaders in technology-driven agriculture. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards the vision of technology-enabled women, prosperous farmers and a modern agricultural sector.
