BALCO wins prestigious ‘Gold medal’ in the ‘National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness 2019-20’
Korba, Balconagar, February 12, 2021: Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer, won the prestigious ‘Gold medal’ in the ‘National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC) 2019-20’. The award was received by Mr. Abhijit Pati, CEO & Director, BALCO in a virtual ceremony held on 13th February 2021. This prestigious award is testimony of BALCO’s thrust in excellence in strategic cost reduction, value added product volume, capacity expansion, coal security and leadership & management talent.
Mr. Abhijit Pati, CEO & Director, BALCO, expressed happiness over receiving the award and said, “Today we are living in a very exciting transformed business environment. BALCO has also rolled out technology driven initiatives like installing GPS-enabled monitoring system in coal carrying vehicles, implementation of BALCO sustainability mobile application and introducing artificial intelligence in operations, the company is actively exploring the field of smart technologies to enhance performance and boost production in the face of fierce global competition, and ensuring appropriate measures at the site subsequent to data-driven analytics for improved performance to achieve business objectives.
The National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC) is instituted by International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM) in the year 2013. It is a unique awards program which recognizes non-conventional approaches and tailor-made strategies of organizations.
